The Proclaimers on Robertson hunting ancient tartan – giclée print
Famous faces, famous fabrics
For just a wee country, Scots have been making waves on the world scene for quite a while. From actors to musicians, writers and more, Scotland has more than it's fair share of famous faces.
The Icons collection pairs some of Scotland's most famous faces with one of their striking clan tartans.
Who am I?
The Proclaimers are brothers Charlie and Craig Reid, who shockingly sing in their Scottish accents. Known for the political content of their songs, such as ‘Letter to America’, they are most famous for their ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)’ fro 1988.
The brothers are shown on Robertson hunting ancient tartan. Reid is a recognised sept, or subdivision, of the Clan Robertson.
This bold, hand-drawn portrait captures essence of the subject with a flourish. It contrasts with the meticulously recreated geometry of the tartan pattern, whose colour is used throughout the piece.
