The Monarch – art print
In Edwin Landseer's famous painting Monarch of the Glen, a large stag surveys an empty scene. Where once humanity spread across the Highlands, now cheviot and deer rule glens depopulated by the ruling classes. This vintage-inspired reinterpretation by Stewart Bremner points out the historical reason for the stag's lone majesty, a statement not so much political, as historical.
