The Monarch and hill – brown and grey – art print
In Edwin Landseer's famous painting Monarch of the Glen, a large stag surveys an empty scene. Where once humanity spread across the Highlands, now cheviot and deer ruled glens depopulated by the ruling classes, in their constant chase of profits and power. This modern reinterpretation revisits the majestic stag, while pointing out the historical reason for its lone majesty. A statement not so much political, as historical.
