About us

At Indy Prints we stock art prints and more that celebrate the politics of the left in the UK and the ongoing campaign for Scottish independence.

Our story begins in early 2013 when our designer and illustrator, Stewart Bremner, began to put more than a decade of experience and his strong design aesthetic to good use, getting involved in the campaign for Scottish independence.

By October 2013, Stewart was working part-time as the graphic designer for Yes Scotland's digital team. He created the social media graphics that contributed massively to the positive arguments for independence, which dominated the online debate.

Working with Yes Scotland, the Scottish Greens, Common Weal, Women for Independence and other pro-Indy groups, Stewart made over 1,200 graphics during the course of the campaign.

The idea behind Indy Prints was born when Stewart began to sell one of his designs (shown left) as a print. He did this so that he could spend more time making his unofficial #indyref work, that he shared for free online. Following the unexpected success of his first print runs, Indy Prints was officially born in July 2014. It began by featuring some of Stewart's most-loved referendum designs.

Since September 2014, Stewart has continued to make prints that support Scottish independence. His is the design that sits at the top of Yes Scotland's Facebook page, which has become one of our most popular prints. More recently, we have been adding new designs by Stewart that celebrate Scotland and Scottish culture!

Just as during the #indyref, when you shop at Indy Prints you give Stewart the time to make more social media graphics – graphics that are widely shared online.

You can keep up with Stewart's latest work on Twitter and Facebook.

Indy Prints is run from Edinburgh and our products are made locally.
