Robert Carlyle on Bruce of Kinnaird ancient tartan – small mounted print
Famous faces, famous fabrics
For just a wee country, Scots have been making waves on the world scene for quite a while. From actors to musicians, writers and more, Scotland has more than it's fair share of famous faces.
The Icons collection pairs some of Scotland's most famous faces with one of their striking clan tartans.
Who am I?
Robert Carlyle may well be an award-winning actor, working in both film and television, however in Scotland he’ll probably always be Begbie from Trainspotting. Elsewhere he is know for films such as The Full Monty and television programmes such as Once Upon a Time and Stargate Universe.
Robert is shown on Bruce of Kinnaird ancient tartan. Carlyle is a recognised sept, or subdivision, of the Clan Bruce.
This bold, hand-drawn portrait captures essence of the subject with a flourish. It contrasts with the meticulously recreated geometry of the tartan pattern, whose colour is used throughout the piece.
