Stay outside Edinburgh Castle – giclée print
Is Scotland overrated or just misunderstood?
If we could “see oorsels as ithers see us” what would we see? Well, thanks to the wonders of the interwebs we can and apparently some of Scotland’s loveliest places… kinda suck.
Hilariously bad reviews
It seems some of the visitors to our shores have misunderstood what they came to see and then they've written a review to prove it. The Overrated Scotland collection features some choice quotes from those reviews, paired with the gorgeous locations they describe. Sometimes the truth is hilarious.
About this location
"If you're not a history buff, you're better off staying outside."
Following the draining of the Nor Loch, Princes Street Gardens was created between the 1770s and 1820s in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle. There is no better place in the city to take in the drama of that magnificent edifice.
The artwork
The drawing takes inspiration from vintage travel posters, particularly ones created during the inter-war period. The overlaid text is a wide-spaced sans-serif typeface that has a definite London Underground map feeling to it. The original drawing can be found in the Landscapes collection.
