Is Scotland overrated or just misunderstood?

If we could “see oorsels as ithers see us” what would we see? Well, thanks to the wonders of the interwebs we can and apparently some of Scotland’s loveliest places… kinda suck.

Hilariously bad reviews

It seems some of the visitors to our shores have misunderstood what they came to see and then they've written a review to prove it. The Overrated Scotland collection features some choice quotes from those reviews, paired with the gorgeous locations they describe. Sometimes the truth is hilarious.

About this location

"The lighthouse is nothing special and the rock is barren."Home to a large colony of gannets, this volcanic plug can be found near North Berwick in the outer part of the Firth of Forth. Uninhabited by humans today, it has previously been both the site of a castle and a prison. It is somehow owned by one man.

The artwork

The drawing takes inspiration from vintage travel posters, particularly ones created during the inter-war period. The overlaid text is a wide-spaced sans-serif typeface that has a definite London Underground map feeling to it. The original drawing can be found in the Landscapes collection.
