The Scottish unicorn – small mounted print
The unicorn is thought to have been adopted into The Royal Coat of Arms of Scotland in the late 1300s. It was believed at the time to be both a real creature and the natural enemy of the lion, which had some years prior been adopted by royalty south of the border.
